ChipsAway Strengthens Franchise Training with New IMI Assessor Capability
We’re delighted to share that our Technical Director, Simon Kings, and Training Manager, Paul Harper, have both successfully achieved reaccreditation for the IMI Senior Cosmetic Repair Qualification. In addition, they are now fully qualified IMI assessors for the Senior Paint and Technician Paint Level qualifications.
This is an important development for the ChipsAway franchise network. These achievements mean that we can now deliver and assess IMI Senior-level qualifications directly, further strengthening the training, support, and professional development available to franchisees and their technicians.
The IMI Senior Cosmetic qualification is a highly regarded industry benchmark, recognising advanced technical competence and best practice in cosmetic vehicle repair. Reaccreditation confirms that ChipsAway’s training leadership continues to meet the highest industry standards and remains fully aligned with current repair techniques, processes, and quality expectations.
Crucially, having in-house IMI assessor capability for Senior Paint and Technician Paint Level qualifications allows ChipsAway to support franchisees through recognised, industry-approved accreditation without relying on external providers. This provides greater accessibility, consistency, and confidence for franchisees looking to develop their own skills or those within their teams.
While this expanded provision is also open to external candidates, it has been developed first and foremost to enhance the value of the ChipsAway franchise, supporting career progression, technical excellence, and professional credibility across the network.
